Anna-Jonesboro High School\'s Abstinence Education Program is in its eighth year of existence. We first received federal funding in 1998 and serve teens in the Union County are between the ages of 14-17. We have been successfully providing Abstinence Education to our students since that time. Since our inception we have brought the abstinence message to over 4500 students. We provide a variety of services including a two-week curriculum to freshman, junior, and senior students promoting abstinence from sexual activity outside of marriage and other high risk behaviors, counseling services to parents and teens, an after school club for at risk girls, and an Abstinence Panel - a group of teens who have chosen abstinence that travel with a presenter and give presentations to other schools.
