Jane Adams Hull House Association's Abstinence Education Program, through its Parkway Community House and LeClaire Hearst Community Center, offers prevention education and leadership development to youth living in the Garfield Ridge, Woodlawn, South Shore, Greater Grand Crossing, and Englewood neighborhoods. Jane Adams programs consist of partnering with community schools to implement classroom instruction on the benefits of abstinence to 7th and 8th graders, conducting an after-school club for youth ages 15-17, and reaching out to the community to strengthen the involvement of parents and community leaders in emphasizing the importance of abstinence to young people.
